Seasoned expert joins our growing leadership team as we strengthen restructuring support for SMEs
We are delighted to announce the appointment of David Griffiths as Partner and Head of Restructuring, as we continue to build our senior team and expand services across the UK.
David brings with him over 24 years of experience in the insolvency and restructuring profession, including 15 years as a licensed insolvency practitioner. Known for his steady, solutions-focused approach, he has supported hundreds of businesses through challenging moments and is passionate about helping clients navigate uncertainty with clarity and care.
David joins us as Richard Tonks, our former Head of Restructuring, moves into a new role as Head of Acquisitions. This transition marks a strategic milestone for us, strengthening both our advisory capacity and our growth ambitions.
“bk plus has built a team with real depth and energy,” David said. “The growth over the last few years is remarkable — but it’s the quality of the people, and the trust clients place in them, that really stands out. We’re seeing businesses under pressure from every angle right now, and they deserve advisors who can listen, act fast, and work alongside them. That’s exactly what we’re here to do.”
As restructuring pressures rise across the SME landscape, the need for early advice has never been greater. We have already welcomed several new specialists to our restructuring team in recent months, with more to be announced soon.
“This is the right move at the right time,” said Shaun Knight, CEO of BK Plus.
“David’s experience speaks for itself, but what really makes him a perfect fit is the way he works with people — calm, clear, and committed to doing the right thing. We’re building something different at BK Plus: a firm where people can grow quickly, clients can trust what they hear, and regional teams deliver national impact. David strengthens all of that.”
Richard Tonks added:
“The recent hires of Brett Barton, Margaret Carter and now David, along with more to come, show the momentum we have in this area. It’s the right moment for me to focus on the acquisitions side of the business, which is accelerating fast. I’m proud of what we’ve built so far, and I know David and the team will take it to the next level.”
We now operate from 30 offices across the UK, serving SMEs with a fresh, people-first approach to accounting and advisory. We continue to grow at pace, investing in regional teams and expanding services — always with a focus on local people, delivering local support, backed by national knowledge.
