bk plus has appointed Paul Foley to lead its new Innovation Tax Relief and Capital Allowances service line. The dedicated team specialises in Research and Development (R&D) tax relief and capital allowances. It forms part of bk plus’s continued investment in advisory services and strengthens the group’s ability to help clients unlock funding, tax efficiencies and growth.

Paul brings entrepreneurial achievement, commercial leadership and more than a decade of experience in the R&D tax sector. He has grown and successfully exited two SME businesses, so he understands first-hand the ambition and commercial realities facing business owners. He was previously a Director at Catax.

At bk plus, Paul will build an Innovation Tax offering that connects specialist advice with the practical needs of ambitious companies. His background gives him a clear view of what innovation funding can mean for a business: the chance to invest in people, develop new ideas and pursue its next stage of growth.

Paul is joined by Richard Armstrong and Paul Okell, who are also Innovation Tax Consultants. Mike Doree joins as Innovation Tax Case Manager and Chris Williams as Innovation Tax Technical Consultant. Together, the team will serve clients across the UK.

The team will work closely with colleagues across the bk plus network, supporting partners and client-facing teams with technical expertise, practical guidance and proactive opportunities for clients. By collaborating with Corporate Finance, Debt Advisory, VAT, Tax and wider advisory services, they will help deliver integrated solutions that address clients’ broader commercial objectives.
