bk plus has advised on the management buyout of KCLS Limited, trading as Astrum Commercial Cleaning, in a transaction that sees Managing Director Simon Jevons acquire the business from his fellow shareholders.

Established in 1993, Astrum has grown to become one of the largest privately owned commercial cleaning businesses in the Midlands. The company provides contract cleaning services across the East and West Midlands, supporting more than 300 customer sites through a workforce of over 900 cleaning operatives. Its services span the commercial, office, education and industrial sectors, alongside complementary washroom, floorcare and associated facilities services.

The management buyout provides a clear succession route for the business and secures its long-term future under Simon’s continued leadership, while providing a strong platform for the next phase of Astrum’s development.

Mark Parsons, Head of Advisory at bk plus, led the debt fundraising process and secured the funding required to support the transaction. bk plus acted as lead adviser on the transaction, with Corporate Finance Partner Tom Parry advising on the deal, supported by Managers Joe Donnelly and Blair Cassidy.
